Cleansing Skin Care Advice You Can Use. Acne skin care and adult acne are two of the major skin care issues that affect many women.

Always start a good cleansing skin care program with the essential clogged pore fighter - EXFOLIATION! Store shelves are lined with countless exfoliation options. Beautiful skin treatment programs use natural skin care products.

Culprit - Clogged Pores. As soon as oil and dead skin cells start building up in a pore, bacteria have a feeding frenzy that helps them multiple and will eventually cause a pimple. KEY ACTION - You can prevent clogged pores by keeping dead skin cell build-up to a minimum and avoiding face and hair care products that contain pore-clogging ingredients like mineral oil, lanolin, and shea butter.

Most store options include manual scrubs, glycolic, salicylic acid, and gentle enzyme-based products. Simply put, exfoliation works by removing dead skin cells that contribute to blemish formation. It generally takes several weeks to see any results but exfoliation is extremely helpful.

The next acne skin care product that is a clogged pore fighter is called retinoids. While retinoids may go by many names, they are all derivatives of vitamin A, which affects the way the skin turns over and prevents dead cells from sticking together and clogging the pores. While most retinoids are over-the-counter, there is also a prescription version that is called Ziana that combines retinoids with an antibiotic to specifically target bacteria. Retinoids are great for patients with adult acne because it helps with anti aging.

Retinoids work to prevent clogged pores by speeding up the skin's natural rate of exfoliation. Retinoids help decrease the stickiness associated with the dead cells and lessening the chances the pores will become clogged. Results may be seen in 2-3 months but acne may worsen before it gets better.

There are side-effects with retinoids, the most common of which is dryness and irritation, which tend to decrease with continued use. Start using retinoid creams every other night and gradually work up to every night - this might help keep side effects to a minimum. Good News! The cost may be covered by insurance.

A cleansing skin care program for oily skin, which ultimately drives adult acne, needs special effort. Experts are generally convinced that hormones are the major cause for oily skin and that is primarily because acne coincides with puberty. But the fact is that genetics, the other facial skin care products you use, and even your medications (especially oral contraceptives) can rev-up the oil glands. When excess oil and dead skin cells clog up the pores, bacteria can multiple and lead to breakouts.

Adult acne is one of the most frustrating problems in a successful cleansing skin care program.

With so many treatment options for acne, how do you know which one to use? If there is a good thing about acne, it's that there are several options and the key is to find the right combination of cleansing skin care, over-the-counter medications and, finally, advanced physician-only treatment plans.

Acne sufferers should keep in mind that if they don't see improvement with cleansing and over-the-counter products within three months, they should seek professional skin care advice; this also goes if they have cysts or scarring.

It may sound too good to be true but several studies now show a connection between taking vitamin C orally and the prevention of acne. It's well documented that vitamin C is considered by many to be a super vitamin and plays a key role in immunity and infection prevention. In order to get the possible anti-bacterial benefits of vitamin C that may be available to prevent acne breakouts, physicians recommend taking 1,000-1,600 mg. three times a day.

As an all-natural supplement program, a combination of anti-inflammatory supplements, like vitamin E, zinc, burdock root, and vitamin C, tend to be more effective synergistically than just one supplement alone.

The most effective program starts with a good cleansing skin care program. The most common over-the-counter acne treatment, especially for adult acne, is benzoyl peroxide. As the basic acne skin care product, it is often recommended by skin care experts and is available in concentrations ranging from 2½%-10%. As an acne skin care agent, benzoyl peroxide actually slows the growth of bacteria and reduces inflammation.

Benzoyl peroxide alone can clear up mild, non-inflammatory blackheads and whiteheads within a month or two.

Benzoyl peroxide, however, has side effects as it kills the bacteria that may dry up excess sebum and lead to redness, peeling, and burning. Those with sensitive skin may not be able to tolerate benzoyl peroxide; and it should be used as part of an acne skin care program nightly.

The next product that can be used at home as part of an adult acne skin care program are blue lights featuring an ANSR beam, which uses a blue light to kill bacteria and red light to facilitate the healing process. An effective cleansing skin care program also has a cleanser that exfoliates the skin to prevent clogged pores.

It must be reinforced that a basic cleansing skin care regimen is mandatory for clear skin and the best would include all-natural anti aging skin care lotions with sun protection.

You've probably heard this a million times, but I'm going to say it one more time…ignore advertising hype.

In order to find the best anti-aging skin creams, you have to ignore the hype. Additionally, just because a celebrity endorses an anti-aging skin cream does not mean that he or she really uses it. That celebrity is being paid for their work and the product they promote is more expensive as a result.

Avoid Designer Names
Designer names are another thing to avoid if you really want the best anti-aging skin creams. Listen to this piece of interesting information. In order to be even slightly competitive, the manufacturer has to reduce the number of active ingredients in order to cover the licensing fees for the designer name. That makes me wonder…do you really think fashion designers know anything about anti-aging skin cream? Probably not, because…

Skincare is Healthcare, Not Cosmetics
Cosmetic companies might like for you to believe otherwise, but skincare is a healthcare topic. The most effective ingredients have been evaluated by dermatologists and other doctors. Evaluation is done by these professionals because there are many diseases and health issues that affect the appearance of your skin's outermost layers; as well as the health and function of your deepest layers.

The things that cause you to look older on the outside can also be caused from the inside. Oxidative stress, free radical damage, allergic reactions, irritation, inflammation, nutrition, and general poor health are just some of the things that affect your appearance. So, what to do?

Speed Up Your Body's Natural Processes
When you are young, your body's ability to repair itself is truly amazing; as some of us have once experienced. Yet, due to illness, poor nutrition, or age, your body's ability to repair itself slows down. This is true throughout your entire body. When you see the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, sagging, and uneven pigmentation, the processes that have slowed down include skin-cell, collagen, and elastin fiber production.

The best anti-aging skin creams address all of these issues by speeding those processes up once again. But, in order to accomplish that feat, certain ingredients must be included in your anti-aging skin cream.

Functional Keratin
Probably the most important compound you can look for is a protein peptide known as Functional Keratin. Keratin is a protein that is found naturally throughout your body and it is one that makes up your skin's matrix.

Functional Keratin was created through a patented process. It can penetrate deeply and be effectively used by your cells on a molecular level. Clinical research has shown that when included in an anti-aging skin cream, keratin increases skin cell proliferation and firmness.

Only the very best anti-aging skin creams contain Functional Keratin. The big named over-the-counter brands and designer cosmetics do not contain this ingredient; mainly because it is too expensive to produce. Other products ordered directly from the manufacturer, with lower overhead, typically have the freedom to spend the time and money to include necessary, healthy, and effective ingredients.

Wakame Kelp Extract
An extract from Wakame kelp has been proven to prevent the breakdown of an amino acid named hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is another necessary protein that makes up your skin's fibers. In young people, hyaluronic levels are high and at a healthy level. In older people, they are much lower.

Moisturizers and Antioxidants
If you can find an anti-aging skin cream that contains both Functional Keratin and Wakame, then you will have found a pretty effective product. Yet, if you can find one that contains those two ingredients plus plant oils and waxes for moisturizing, and antioxidants to prevent free radical damage, then it will be really effective.

The added benefit of proper moisturizers and antioxidants is this. Dry skin is easily damaged and looks older. The average moisturizer is not composed of plant oils and waxes, but instead is petrolatum. Petrolatum actually inhibits the skin's reparation process. And antioxidants will prevent the oxidative stress that leads to wrinkles and free radical damage that can cause skin cancer.

The Full Package
The best anti-aging skin creams will contain HE Q10, which is a combination of the antioxidants COQ10 and vitamin E. In addition, the cream will contain grape seed oil and Babassu wax (moisturizers), Functional Keratin (proteins), and Wakame extract (protein breakdown inhibitor). And always, as a rule of thumb, look for a manufacturer that guarantees safe products and customer satisfaction. Believe me, guaranteeing a product with customer satisfaction says a lot about a manufacturer.

Hypoallegenic skincare is a spelling mistake. The original word is hypoallergenic (with an R). But since thousands of people spell it hypoallegenic, this article will use the spelling all through.

The word was created by an advertiser in 1953. It just means having a decreased tendency to provoke an allergic reaction -- such as hypoallegenic cosmetics. It's supposed to refer to products that won't cause you allergic reactions. But whether it's hypoallegenic skincare or hypoallergenic skincare, the word has no medical or scientific meaning.

It SOUNDS scientific. That's why it was invented, and why it's found all over the cosmetic world. But it's just an advertising claim. If you want to avoid allergic reactions, can you buy good hypoallegenic skincare products? Absolutely. I'll tell you about some great ones. But try to have a sense of humor about the meaningless claims and meaningless words you see.

Here's my very favorite question and answer from one of my favorite hypoallegenic skincare manufacturers:

Q: Are the products Non-Comedogenic?

A: Yes

That's it. No long-winded claims, just YES.

In case you're asking, "What's Non-Comedogenic?" well, I don't blame you. It's another invented word, but it means that the skincare product won't block pores, and therefore won't cause inflammation or encourage pimples.

This manufacturer doesn't even USE the word "hypoallegenic" or "hypoallergenic" -- probably because everybody uses it and it doesn't really mean anything.

If you're looking for hypoallegenic skincare, you need to avoid ingredients that cause allergic reactions. And here are some tips:

1. Avoid these ingredients, some of the most common found in so-called "hypoallegenic skincare" products: petrolatum or petroleum jelly (the ingredient in Vaseline), liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, or any mineral oil -- all of them clog the pores and strip the natural oils from the skin; PEG (polyethylene glycol), parabens (methyl, butyl and ethyl paraben) and acrylamide -- all can cause inflammation and are suspected carcinogens.

2. Look for a product whose ingredients have been tested in clinical studies. And not just one ingredient; if all ingredients haven't been tested for safety and effectiveness, what are they doing in a hypoallegenic skincare product?

3. Check that the manufacturer has been keeping up with the latest science in skin care. It's not your job to track the research -- you have a busy life, after all. But the manufacturer should say -- in simple English -- exactly what's in their product, and why each ingredient is there.

For details and specifics on genuine, effective hypoallegenic skincare products, see my website.

If it is hypoallergenic skincare that you are looking for, I have some information that you need. I also have some advice about choosing paraben-free skincare and other personal care products. Let's start with preservatives.

Preservatives are necessary in lotions, creams and other health and beauty aids, but the artificial ones are common allergens. Naturally occurring vitamin E and grape seed extract can effectively preserve oils and botanicals, without causing allergic reactions.

The average hypoallergenic skincare creams simply contain a "different" artificial preservative; different from the one that they use in their regular products. The most common preservatives, even found in products developed by dermatologists, are parabens.

After reports concerning the fear that parabens could play a role in cancer, paraben-free skincare products hit the market. But, most of them still contain an artificial preservative that is even more likely to cause adverse and allergic reactions. So, if the label only says paraben-free skincare, you have to found out what preservative the company is using.

When you need hypoallergenic skincare, you also need fragrance-free products. There are thousands of artificial fragrances and dozens of natural ones, which are commonly listed as essential oils. All of them, whether they are artificial or naturally occurring, cause allergic reactions. Essential oils can cause some really serious itching and ugly rashes.

I know that all of the terms that companies use can be confusing. "Essential fatty acids" for example are good to have in lotions and creams, but essential oils are not. The word essential can mean different things. When it comes to fatty acids, it means fatty acids that must be consumed through diet, as the body cannot create them. When it comes to essential oils, it means a solution that conveys the "essence" of the plant; essence meaning aroma. Maybe, that will help those of you that have been confused.

There is a new line of paraben-free skincare creams for the face and body that were developed by a company that is aware of all of the things that are necessary to support the skin's health and fully aware of all of the ingredients that can cause allergic and adverse reactions.

The line can truly be called hypoallergenic skincare. In fact, I would call it non-allergenic. No one is allergic to things like protein and vitamins. I doubt that anyone is allergic to grape seed oil or avocados. At least, I've never heard of it.

Not only is it a paraben-free skincare line, it is also free of artificial preservatives, added fragrances, dyes and other objectionable substances. They guarantee purity to their customers by testing each raw ingredient and each batch for contaminants like pesticides, which are often found in essential oils and other plant extracts.

Adult acne starts with an understanding of how a pimple forms. Cleansing skin care can only work by understanding the cycle.

How does a Pimple Form? Clogged pores, oil, and bacteria are three of the main causes of acne and according to leading dermatologists, the more points you can intervene at during the acne cycle, the better results you'll get.

Step 1 - The pore, which is also the opening of the hair follicle, becomes clogged with dead skin cells, dirt, and oil.

Step 2 - Acne bacteria feed off the oil in the clogged pore and literally attract white blood cells to the area.

Step 3 - Your body then responds with inflammation that causes the redness, swelling, and pain associated with the pimple.

Do you ever wonder why some of us only get blackheads while others get full-blown breakouts? Genetics, hormones, environmental factors, and immunity all play a role in the development of acne. The inflammation response that causes a pimple is really our bodies' immune response to foreign material (sebum) which penetrates into the dermis. The greater the immune response, the more severe the acne becomes.

Adult acne takes the form of one of five types, which each require their own unique cleansing skin care regimen that are uniquely tailored to their adult acne type.

1. Blackheads and whiteheads are both types of comedones, which is another term used to describe a clogged pore. These are most common in what's call the T-Zone, which is comprise of the forehead, nose, and chin.

2. A pustule is a lesion that contains a mixture of white blood cells, dead skin cells, and bacteria, otherwise known as pus.

3. Papules are another type of blemish but these are solid raised bumps - not squeezable. Papules lend a rough feel to the skin and are caused by a local reaction to the acne bacteria that causes acne. These are most common on the cheeks and along the jaw line.

4. Like a papules, a nodule is a solid lesion. A nodule is characterized like inflammation and this type of blemish extends into deeper layers of the skin that usually cause pain and scarring.

5. Cysts occur deep in the skin and contain pus. They are larger than pustules and are usually severely inflamed. They may be very painful and often result in scarring.

In this series on cleansing skin care, we are discussing adult acne and specific acne skin care.

Cosmetic companies seem to think that men's skincare products can be just like women’s, as long as they have a “manly” fragrance. There are some basic differences between a man’s face and a woman’s. These differences need to be taken into consideration when creating men anti-aging skincare products. Otherwise, they just won’t be effective and could eventually make your skin look worse.

Even if you are a young man, you want to use men's skincare solutions that delay the signs of aging. It’s just the safest and healthiest thing that you can do, as long as you know which ingredients to look for and which to avoid. If you keep reading, that’s what you’ll learn.

Just for Men Anti-aging Skincare Ingredients:

I call them “just for men anti-aging skincare ingredients”, because they address the issues of redness and inflammation. Those are two problems that most guys have, particularly those that shave. If you’re a young man, you might not “see” it, but it is a problem.

Not only does chronic inflammation, which is largely due to shaving, negatively affect your appearance, it can also affect the skin’s long-term health. Researchers now believe that chronic inflammation plays a major role in the development of cancerous cells.

So, men's skincare creams that contain natural anti-inflammatories may also help prevent skin cancer. If you also strive to use cleansers and shaving lubricants that contain safe and natural ingredients, then you’ll look better today and in the future.

Using a just for men anti-aging skincare cream every day, after you shave, instead of the alcohol-based aftershaves that most guys use, is an important step. The ingredients to look for include witch hazel and capuacu butter.Â

Witch hazel was once the most popular solution for aftershaves, but petroleum-based alcohols are cheaper and basically took over the market. Witch hazel is a plant-derived astringent that has natural antibacterial and antioxidant activity. It has been recommended for psoriasis, eczema, blisters, cracked skin, insect bites, poison ivy and cold sores.

Capuacu butter comes from a fruit, native to South America. It helps to heal razor and sunburns, contains essential fatty acids that are needed to replenish the skin’s moisture content.  Â

Ingredients that Men's Skincare Products Should Not Contain:

The biggest problem with petroleum based alcohols is that they strip the skin of its natural moisture, causing excessive dryness and making the skin’s cells more easily damaged. They also increase redness and irritation. Plant-based alcohols are a better choice, but most companies don’t use them, because they cost more.

You don’t need or want artificial preservatives in a men anti-aging skincare cream. Natural vitamin E is an effective preservative and an important antioxidant that prevents the appearance of age spots and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Again, companies don’t use it, because it costs more than artificial preservatives. Added fragrances are also unnecessary and a common cause of allergic reactions.

There is a new line of men's skincare creams that are safe and effective. That’s what you need to look for. Visit my website today to learn more about the natural substances that are designed to keep men's skin looking healthy and young.

The first thing that I want to be sure to tell you is that you will not find much in the way of truth in any skincare reviews. You simply cannot gauge whether or not the product being reviewed is the best skincare brand as the reviewers claim. There is a reason for my saying this as you will see.

There is logic behind my claim about these skincare reviews when you consider that all of them are either being conducted by the company that manufactured the chosen product, or the promotion is coming from one of the many licensees that are pushed by the company to sell the product.

The only way that you could possibly discern whether or not something is the best skincare brand is by having it evaluated by an outside party that has nothing to lose or gain by being absolutely honest about whether or not the product is both safe, and effective.

The typical skincare reviews are going to focus on certain "highlights" of the product and one or two of its active ingredients, but that is all of the information that they will give you. They generally will not give you a full breakdown of the ingredients in the product because there are compounds present that they don't want you to know about.

They don't want you to be aware that their self proclaimed best skincare brand uses parabens for preservatives. These chemicals have been linked to increasing your risk of developing breast cancer, and many others. They also are endocrine system disruptors as they have an estrogenic affect on the body.

Instead of relying on skincare reviews to guide us as far as which product that we should buy, we need to take the time to educate ourselves on which are safe, and healthy ingredients to have in your cosmetics, and which are the ones that we should be avoiding. This way we can make our own educated decision about which products that we need.

For starters, the best skincare brand should not contain any chemical ingredients in them, including the popular Botox alternatives. They should also not contain certain organic materials such as petroleum based moisturizers, or bovine or swine derived collagen. These "natural" ingredients will not produce the affect that it is advertised that they will.

Honest skincare reviews will tell you that your product should contain natural plant based moisturizers, plenty of natural antioxidant rich ingredients, and also natural compounds which will provide your skin with a high level of hyaluronic acid. Phytessence Wakame Japanese sea kelp extract is excellent for this purpose.

The best skincare brand will also contain naturally derived protein extracts such as Functional Keratin. Whereas collagen derived from inhuman sources will only provide temporary relief, and then only when injected, Functional Keratin will promote natural collagen growth within the body providing long term changes.

Remember that education is the first step in allowing you to conduct your own personal skincare reviews. Seek out products containing the ingredients that I have mentioned here, and you will be well on the road to healthier, younger looking skin.

In today's world, lots of women (and men) want only 100% pure skincare products. I don't blame them; this is what I want too. We should all want to use a natural product, since natural is almost always better for us. However, there is a flaw in the holistic skincare approach.

Let's face it, completely natural skincare products don't exist. You may come across slick advertising and be convinced that a product is all-natural, but it's mostly hype.

Let me give you the real scoop: Putting only pure natural substances on your skin is simply impossible if you use commercial skincare products. If you insist on all-natural, untouched by man ingredients, go outside after a rainstorm and collect some mud. You see, even the ingredients derived from plants undergo natural processing before they can be used in a skincare product. In fact, you should welcome this processing because it increases the efffectiveness of these natural plant substances.

Now, just because 100% pure skincare is a myth doesn't mean all ingredients on the label are acceptable. No, you should avoid all products that are stuffed with chemicals.

Holistic skincare products are the way to go. Here are a few synthetic ingredients to avoid: Avoid any product containing parabens. Parabens are popular because they are cheap and act as effective preservatives. However, some studies indicate that they may be linked to cancer.

For cosmetic manufacturers, it makes sense good business sense to use parabens. They give their products longer shelf-lives. But how exactly do you the consumer benefit? Well, you guessed it, you don't benefit at all. Your skin absorbs these chemicals, so the big cosmetic companies can increase their profit margin. That's not the trade-off I look for when I buy a skin cream.

Another thing to avoid are fragrances if you want a 100% pure skincare product. Sure, smelling nice is appealing; we all want others to think we smell good. But, beware, fragrances are made from chemicals that often irritate your skin.

Holistic skincare means using all natural ingredients, but are some better than others?

Yes, you should focus on ingredients that have been proven to be effective in clinical studies.

Here are two powerful ingredients to consider:

Phytessence Wakame - an exotic sea kelp in the Sea of Japan. This is a beauty secret of Japanese women, who are known for maintaining radiant and supple skin as they age.

Cynergy TK -- it is extracted from the wool of New Zealand sheep. It contains functional keratin, which is a protein found throughout the body. It's an essential protein in the structure of skin. In clinical trials, Cynergy TK has been shown to actually stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin.

You know that collagen and elastin are the two skin proteins responsible for the elasticity and firmness of skin. When we get older, our bodies produce less collagen and elastin. Without these essential proteins, wrinkles surface and skin starts to sag.

To sum up, 100% pure skincare need is basic. Focus on the ingredient list and don't be persuaded by the marketing hype. There are other smaller companies in the industry that do little advertising, but approach skincare with a natural philosophy.

Are you fed up with skin care products that don't combat the three major skin agers?

Are you frustrated of suffering from broken skin due to allergic reactions even after using hypoallergenic skincare products? It's maybe because you're choosing the wrong products. Find out what you should look for in the best hypoallergenic and parabens-free skincare.

So, let us look at what hypoallergenic skincare actually means? You would be surprised to know that the word hypoallergenic does not have any medical or scientific meaning! In fact, it is a word made up by the skincare companies to sell their products more easily to the consumers.

As an example, you can find parabens-free skincare products as a type of hypoallergenic skincare. Parabens are widely used as preservatives in general skincare products. Although these products do not contain parabens, it does not mean that they are free of other artificial preservatives.

What is so bad about parabens? Clinical studies have shown that they can cause cancerous breast tumors! They have also been proven to adversely impact the functioning of our endocrine system and cause rashes and allergic reactions.

Therefore, while you look for the best hypoallergenic skincare products for yourself, take a close look at the label. Look for all-natural ingredients and make sure that no synthetic chemical substances such as dioxanes, mineral oils, alcohols and fragrances are present in them.

Another safeguard that you can take is to avoid purchasing hypoallergenic skincare products from local drugstores or department stores. They generally store the cheapest products with fancy packaging, and their sole motive is to make the highest profits.

They have a very limited range of products and do not provide complete information on -

- What ingredients have been used?
- Why they have been used?
- The background behind its scientific formulation.

You can find all this information easily when you research and purchase from online niche skincare manufacturers. And with complete and detailed information in your hands, you can make the best decision regarding the most effective hypoallergenic skincare product.

Look for cutting edge natural ingredients such as Cynergy TK, Phytessence Wakame, active Manuka honey and Nano-Lipobelle H EQ10.
