It is dead skin cells and oil collecting in the pores that cause acne, so if you have a problem with acne, you might choose one that exfoliates.
A tanning lotion that has amino acids can stimulate the production of melanin which is the substance in our skin that increases pigmentation in the skin. The more melanin you have the darker your skin is. If you increase your melanin production you darken your skin.
Choosing the right tanning lotions can be one that includes antioxidants. Antioxidants decrease the chance of wrinkles caused from the tanning bed. Also consider that some lotions are designed for beginners and others are made for those who are more experienced tanners.
